Maryland Plays Outsized Role in Worldwide Hunt for A Coronavirus Vaccine
The Greater Baltimore region is leading the nation’s search for a Coronavirus vaccine with assets including The Johns Hopkins University and University of Maryland Baltimore - and life science companies such as Emergent BioSolution’s manufacturing center located in Baltimore City. The full breadth of assets immediately surrounding the Region, including NIH and the FDA, further strengthen Maryland as a location of choice - “This is the place to be. There are very few places in the world that can really gather all these resources in a small geographical area. Maryland is definitely one of them," said Luis Branco, managing director of Germantown’s Zalgen Labs.
