Howard Community College’s Board of Trustees Appoints Dr. Daria Willis as the Fifth President
EAGB shares our congratulations with Howard Community College(HCC) upon their announcement of Dr. Daria Willis as the new president of the College, succeeding Dr. Kate Hetherington who retired in October after 14 years as president. Dr. Willis, who currently serves as president of Everett Community College in Washington, becomes the fifth president and first African American to lead the college in its 51-year history. Her presidency will begin January 10, 2022. “As the next president, I commit to empowering the college and the Howard County community, inspiring innovation, closing the achievement gap among students, and advocating for social justice, equity, and education for all,” said Dr. Willis.
