Graybug Vision, Founded Out of Johns Hopkins University Expects to Raise $90M in IPO
Congratulations to Johns Hopkins University spinout company Graybug Vision on its Wall Street debut Friday! Graybug expects to use the anticipated $90-$100M proceeds from the IPO to continue development of drugs for ocular diseases that cause blindness. Founded in 2011 from groundbreaking research performed at JHU’s Wilmer Eye Institute, the biopharmaceutical company is based out of CA and maintains a research and development center in Baltimore. Collaboration with Johns Hopkins will continue as the company assesses expansion of research facilities following the new funding.
