Cecil County Cannabis Grower SunMed Completes $18M Expansion
Cecil County-based SunMed Growers has completed a $18M expansion of its cannabis greenhouse facility. The expansion has tripled the company's facility to 250,000 sf and includes the creation of at least 50 new jobs this year. Construction began in July 2019 and includes new LED lighting, storage and water filtration systems, and state-of-the-art climate controls to make cultivation more efficient and eco-friendly. SunMed is the latest licensed firm to significantly expand cannabis growing operations in the state, as both demand and the number of patients participating in the market continue to rise.
