Building STEPS Expose High School Students to STEM Careers

Baltimore-based Building STEPS is exposing high school students to STEM careers as they prepare for college. The free program, celebrating its 21st anniversary this year, partners with 15 Baltimore City high schools to engage high-achieving students in various STEM programs starting their junior year. This program includes monthly field trips to local companies to explore related careers, paid internship programming for rising seniors, and more. The Hanover-based networking systems, services, and software company, Ciena, recently donated 55 tech packages to Building STEPS students. Each package includes one laptop, a year of online academic support from Chegg, and $100 in school supplies. Via Technical.ly Media.
