Baltimore’s ‘Inland’ Port Takes Shape on E-commerce Demand

The Logistics industry is thriving in Greater Baltimore! Tradepoint Atlantic (TPA) in Baltimore County has attracted dozens of major shippers and third-party logistics service providers to expand and open distribution centers, including Amazon.com, Floor & Decor, McCormick Spice, and more. Located within a day’s drive from about a third of the country’s population, the transformed former Bethlehem Steel plant property has become an “inland” port serving the Port of Baltimore. Containerized cargo arriving at the Port is easily trucked to newly constructed distribution centers at TPA. And they’re not done yet – “We have another 4.4 million square feet in various stages of development,” said Aaron Tomarchio, TPA’s Sr. VP of Corporate Affairs and EAGB board member. The Region is poised for continued growth in logistics. Learn more in EAGB’s Logistics Industry Profile:https://www.greaterbaltimore.org/data/industry-profiles/logistics.
